I appreciate everyone’s welcome. Whether those stories are spoken in person here or on the screens in the films, I don’t know about you, but I found them to be really powerful and captivating. All of them are tales of transformation.

And Nathaniel—I have no idea how you manage it. I’m not sure how you manage to maintain your composure, dignity, and hope for other people at the same time. We are all very inspired by it; we appreciate you coming. Nathaniel did not disclose to you that he played the trombone while running the marathon. He teaches music.

And Rob, thank you for sharing your experience and adding your thoughts on housing, the value of a house, and the necessity of basic security. It makes all the difference in the world, a base camp from which people can build their lives. For me, it very definitely did.

And your story is about change, Haruna. Switching political parties is a major decision because it involves change.

To put the Labour Party back in the hands of working people, we made changes to it. And we sincerely look forward to the chance to transform the nation and return it to the working class.

I won’t be giving you any tricks now. The catastrophe the Conservatives have created in this country cannot be fixed quickly. However, this revamped the Labour Party with a forward-thinking strategy.

Like with all desire, mine for this country begins with baby steps. Initial moves in the direction of faster development, a resurgent NHS, stronger borders, lower costs, safer streets, and more chances for your kids.

Since the entire nation has had enough of 14 years of failure and constant circle-turning, we have all had enough. Chaos breeds division; chaos breeds division. plus there is a person cost to so as to.

We visited the hospital; it’s geared for kids, and I love how the wards are organized. I saw the ward designated for heart procedures on infants aged 0 to 2. It’s amazing to even enter that ward. And to witness little infants, babies undergoing heart surgery.

The bravery of these small creatures. They have an incredible NHS staff working with them, performing operations you would not believe were feasible. That was incredibly humiliating for me, but it was also encouraging and even affirming. a genuine reminder of our greatest abilities.

However, I also left that hospital with a deep sense of rage after learning that the primary reason kids between the ages of 6 and 10 check into the hospital is to have their decaying teeth extracted. There are genuinely more kids visiting that hospital than any other for dental extractions due to tooth rot.

They are bearing a hefty price for the actions of this government. That amazing professionals at the NHS having to spend their time and knowledge extracting rotten teeth when it could have been avoided. We’ve heard about a plethora of other examples this morning, but they occur all around the nation. They also convey a richer, more comprehensive story.

A tale of a loss of faith in our nation’s ability to move forward—of hope, of trust, even of confidence. And we need to restore that optimism, that trust, and that confidence if we’re serious about rebuilding our nation and moving it forward.

And you can’t achieve that with tricks, band-aid fixes, or sticking plasters—you can’t just glue something on an issue and hope it goes away; it just becomes worse.

For this reason, I outlined my goals for the incoming Labour government last year. The significant adjustments required for our nation to advance and prosper. in order to improve the area. long-term goals. Reputable programs that address the basic issues and provide a newly elected administration with a clear and compelling vision for the changes we wish to see. This is going to be difficult now. Plaster sticking is simple, yet it is ineffective.

However, I’ve never run from difficult choices. I oversaw a public service that we modified and reorganized. Many claimed that we had to do it, that you couldn’t do it, or that you shouldn’t do it.

We continued. We reshaped the Labour Party to once again serve the interests of the working class, putting the nation before the party.

This is a crucial day since all objectives, especially those to improve your country, must begin with small measures. These are the things we’re doing initially. They allow us to look the people in the eye and say,

“These are the first shots, these are our down payments of change that you deserve to see.” First stages totally funded and properly costed and ready to begin.

First, ensure economic stability. This is the fundamental basis for economic expansion. Strict spending guidelines, really. to minimize taxes, mortgages, and inflation. Working people will bear the consequences if you lose control of the economy.

Working people suffered as a result of Liz Truss’s loss of economic control. I spent a week or so in Wolverhampton with a young couple and their three-year-old girl after she shared her mini-Budget.

They also desired a second kid in order to grow their family. They then choose which new house to purchase. For it, they were able to obtain a short-term mortgage. The future they planned to create filled them with excitement.

The economy was wrecked by Liz Truss. They couldn’t afford the mortgage offer, so they had to abandon their plans and stop looking for a new house. Their offer practically soared through the ceiling. Moving forward is no longer possible. Caught in the mud.

However, they also took a far more significant choice. They determined they couldn’t afford to have any more kids. And for the rest of their lives, they will live with that choice. I am not ready to let that kind of harm to working people happen under any Labour government, ever.

This goes beyond the past; Rishi Sunak has not picked up the necessary lessons. He declares that National Insurance will be eliminated. That’s an unfunded tax cut of £46bn. £46 trillion. I find it difficult to say this, yet stability requires change, and that’s reasons why we must do that action first.

Reduced waiting times for the NHS is the second step. There is no way to exaggerate how terrible this issue is. There are over eight million procedures and appointments required. 80,000,000.

This implies that everyone present—either as a viewer or listener—is either on the waiting list themselves or is aware of someone who is. It is at its worst right now. And it’s always visible to us. Whenever I go out, I see it.

I was flying from London to Manchester on Sunday. I must admit that I was in route to Old Trafford to witness Arsenal defeat Manchester United away.

I got out as soon as we arrived at the Knutsford service station and went inside to have a coffee. And when I was summoned over by a woman who recognized me, she told me that she had an ingrowing eyelid. She is experiencing extreme pain and discomfort due to the swollen, raw red area. “I just found out I have to wait another 12 months for her operation,” she stated to me after waiting 18 months for an appointment.

She was essentially happy that I had won the election and taken action. That’s not typical; there are several accounts of this kind of surgery, whether it’s for the hips, knees, or another body part. We have to cope with it because that is the cost that a great deal of people are bearing. Tightening up on tax evaders and non-dom tax status payers pays for 40,000 procedures and appointments per week.

The next step is to establish a new Border Security Command. as our borders are no longer within the government’s control. Eight thousand people have braved the treacherous trek in small boats across the Channel this year alone. 8,000 is a record.

Let’s be clear: that is not a journey anyone should take. And the way we react is a test, a test of governments and would-be governments. And in that answer, there are options. You have the option of selecting a gimmick that won’t work or a serious strategy that will solve the core issue.

Additionally, the government has selected the Rwanda scheme as a ruse. It’s extremely expensive, a fortune. to deport under 1% of people who arrive by small boat. Naturally, this implies that the plan will not remove more than 99 percent of the population.

You haven’t met a criminal gang if you don’t believe that they tell the victims they are taking advantage of. since those gangs are disgusting. They are generating enormous sums of money.

They are breaching our borders and placing some of the most vulnerable individuals on the planet in boats they shouldn’t be in. Therefore, we must take seriously our intention to dismantle and eliminate such gangs.

The Border Security Command steps in at this point. a new command with enhanced capabilities, notably the ability to combat terrorism. The term “small boat” is used because that’s what we talk about, but when you look at the boats that are being utilized nowadays, they’re not that small.

They are produced on demand. Vulnerable individuals are being placed in them for cash by evil groups after they are being stored throughout Europe and transported up to the French north coast.

worked as the head of public prosecutions for five years, most recently as the chief prosecutor. To dismantle criminal gangs that were also terrorist organizations, I collaborated with law enforcement agencies throughout Europe. By the way, these are highly developed gangs. And we succeeded in taking them down.

We will destroy the evil gangs that transport people across the Channel in small boats, and I will never give up on it.

Excellent British Energy is the fourth step. The issue at hand is readily apparent; this is a textbook case of sticking-plaster politics. Since the Tory administration declared they would “cut the green crap” approximately ten years ago. Do you recall that? “Stop being so green.”

As a result, they stopped funding clean British power, outlawed offshore wind, and removed insulation from homes, leaving us extremely vulnerable.

We were thus more vulnerable than other nations when Russia attacked Ukraine as a result of shifting global dynamics, and your bills increased more than they ought to have.

Under a Labour government, I’m not willing to allow it to occur. As a result, we will establish Great British Energy, which will be owned by the public and will generate revenue, invest in the future, and permanently lower bills.

Step five: putting a stop to antisocial behavior. People have told me, “Keir, this is low level antisocial behavior, it’s not that important,” throughout my professional life, including while I was chief prosecutor and a politician. Absolutely incorrect.

If you believe that you are unable to leave your house at night, stroll down your own high street, or feel secure and at ease in your own neighborhood, those are serious issues. That hinders a great deal of folks. It’s highly significant, so it’s not low level.

That was made clear to me while I was attending the sixth form college in Stoke. I was speaking with young ladies and girls who were 16 and 17. They brought up antisocial behavior while we were actually discussing something different.

They confided in me that, during the day, they do not feel secure strolling along our own high street. For those young ladies, that is enormous. Because of antisocial behavior, they don’t feel comfortable on their high street throughout the day.

That is the sensation of having lost authority over your streets. Therefore, we must take strong action against antisocial behavior. To keep your streets secure, your town will get 13,000 additional neighborhood officers with enhanced authority.

Step six is the last one, involving 6,500 more teachers. paid for through the elimination of private school tax benefits. For it is necessary that we prepare our kids and teens for the job and lifestyles that they will genuinely lead.

And to ensure that the skills students are taught are the ones they will genuinely need in the real world, reform will be necessary. Moreover, it implies that we must focus on the creativity, resilience, and confidence that all kids and teenagers require.

However, we must correct the fundamentals. The prime minister loves to lecture us about how important math is until we are eighteen. Now, based on his comments regarding the unfunded £46 billion tax cut, he is most likely correct about himself.

However, the real issue is that there aren’t enough math teachers in our secondary schools for students up to the age of sixteen. There are not enough math and other important teachers at our school. That is astonishing.

Since I was the first person in my family to attend college, I am aware of the influence that education can have. Some of you may be familiar with Somers Town, but most likely not. It is part of my constituency. It is situated between Kings Cross and Euston Station. It’s among the poorest places in the nation, if not all of Europe.

Additionally, the kids in the Somers Town schools have a view of the corporate construction beyond Kings Cross as they gaze out the window of their building and across to their playground.

There’s Google, and it’s a great facility that Google has set up. It’s just the Guardian building. Although they can see it, they never think that’s where they’ll be employed. Though it’s only a few hundred yards, they are unable to make the jump.

I want every youngster to believe that achievement is theirs, regardless of their upbringing. that in order to get along, people don’t need to alter who they are. And the Labour Party will battle daily to provide those kids with a future that is suitable for them.

Thus, here we are. Six steps, one card, and a strategy to transform the nation. We can deliver this message to every home, anywhere in the nation. Make the case that deterioration is not inevitable at every door in the nation. A difference can be made in politics.

You have the power to choose a better future for Britain by supporting Labour. Labour can put an end to the mess. Let Labour help you turn the page. Bring politics back to the people – through Labour. And we can rebuild our nation with labor if we have perseverance, resolve, and these initial steps.
